July 3, 2008 - Ava's Last Lesson

During the two weeks that Ava took her swim lessons, she improved beyond measure. The lessons themselves cost $75, but the courage and skill she gained in the water, is priceless! Kyle was able to come to Ava's last lesson (what job allows that kind of flexibility?) making it so much more special. We even got a babysitter for Jack so I could watch Ava for the first time.

When I asked Ava to guess who was coming to her last lesson and gave her the clue that it was someone she loved her as much as Mommy. Ava instantly guessed,"My teacher!" She really loved her lessons and especially her teacher, apparently!

I was super glad that Kyle tagged along for many reasons, most of all, though, was the help he gave with Ava, because when Ava was presented with her certificate of completion, she threw the biggest fit (laying on the pool deck and everything) because it was green and not pink! Her teacher felt so bad and tried her hardest to find a pink certificate, to no avail. In the end, Ava finally got up and walked out nicely, but without Kyle I think it would have been harder to just let her lay there and scream!

Her teacher, Allison, was so nice, and it turned out she was in our Stake, small world!
