Helmet Head

This guy and his hats/helmet crack me up.  I'm not sure what the deal is, because Jack and Kyle never wear hats.  He is always wearing something though, and it is really cute.  Here he can be seen wearing his helmet in my closet while playing the IPad and in my bed while singing along to some songs on the Sonos.  This guy is too much!

Also DONE!!

I started our room two years ago, but also finished this week.  Not quite as impressive as reading the book of Mormon, but doing all the artwork and pillows myself and sourcing everything else proved to be quite a challenge for me.  Wish I could have finished sooner, because dang does it look good in here!

DONE!!

This new 10 year old finished the Book of Mormon!!!  She started it last November and has been reading every night since.  She is a dedicated reader and probably gets in about 15 minutes each night.  What a rockstar!!  I hope I can be like her when I grow up!

Post Tourney

After winning all their games in straight sets, Kyle came home and we all relaxed around the 71 degree pool.  I never got in and Kyle only got in for a few seconds at a time, but the kids had a blast and will probably ask to get in every day from now on!

Coach TOO!

Even though Kyle started and runs the league as well as being a busy full-time attorney and husband/father, our high school team did not have a coach, so he decided to take that on to.

TBVVL

Kyle's dream is finally a reality.  He started the first high school boys volleyball league in Texas.

Here he is at the first of two tournaments talking to the boys and the coaches about how awesome they are for being part of something like this.

Nest or Pest?

When we got home, I finally discovered the nest that I have been looking for these past few weeks.  I wanted to remove it so bad to avoid the continued onslaught of bird poop on our driveway where the basketball hoop is, but once we realized there were actual baby birds in the next, we were forced to leave it be.

The clean up happened at least once daily for over a week and then they were gone and Kyle tore that nest off of our downspout to prevent another brood!

Park Pirate

Before lunch I took Ben to the park and Grammy tagged along.  We were only there for about 45 minutes before it started to drizzle.  Ben was loving his time there and didn't want to leave even though we were all starting to get wet.

Grammy!

Grammy flew in Friday night and was here all weekend for the kids' games, church on Sunday and Norah's birthday party on Monday.  She was a trooper trying keep up with our crazy 6 person crew.  We wore her out at first, but the last two days she kept right up with our pace and made some memories with these cute kiddos.

Rose Cake

A few months ago, Norah was with me at the store looking at cakes for the birthday celebration we had for our house when it turned two.  While we were at Albertsons, she saw a red velvet cake with a big red frosting rose on top.  She immediately requested that for her birthday and I finally was able to follow through on my promise.

Due to the Frozen themed colors for her streamers (had to prepare for her birthday party to be held a few days from now) I spruced up her cake with some blue icing.  Not the prettiest of cakes, but who doesn't love a little more frosting?  Norah loved the candle holder and that candles that wouldn't quit.

Gifts!

Norah is so loved and received so many presents from us and her grandparents-what a haul!

Presents!

This girl was able to open presents before school after some donuts for breakfast.

Birthday Girl!

This new six year old is all girl, she is so full of life (and opinions) and is so unique in every way!

Happy Easter!

We love Easter and we loved celebrating this most special day with such a strong Spirit in our home thanks to another day of General Conference.  All the Easter candy came in quite handy for our Conference Bingo games.

1st Place

This guy was on fire today, he found so many eggs and didn't even care if they were peanut butter filled.  He was on a mission to win, and he did!

2nd Place

This little beauty found the second most eggs!  She did get a bunch of sympathy eggs from her siblings which may or may not have been necessary.

3rd Place

Such a sweetie, always giving eggs to Ben even though she found them first.  She didn't come out on top, but I don't think she minded.

Ready for It!

Because it is conference weekend, we don't have any Sunday meetings to attend and can spend as much time as we want on our Easter traditions.  We had our usual egg hunt.  Here are the kids before we yelled GO!

Easter Amazement

Kyle stayed up late and whipped up this 3-D Ostern Lambkuchen.  It tasted a ton like pound cake, and who wouldn't want to eat that for breakfast!

So Cute

At the end of the day, Norah called Kyle into her room to take a picture of her.  She had cleaned it up and wanted a photo shoot.  She was wearing pj's and that wouldn't do, so she quickly changed into a dress that buttoned in the front and stood with her back to Kyle to hide the fact that it was unbuttoned.  This was all her idea-so creative!

Birthday Boy

Not only did we not get a picture of Ben opening his presents, we were so frazzled after a long Saturday that we forgot to take pictures of his cake.  We got some video of him blowing out candles, but no stills.  This was not my favorite birthday, but boy does he look cute in his new clothes.

Conference

Even though it was Ben's birthday, we still spent the day watching General Conference in the media room.  Ben didn't seem to mind sitting around playing with his new toys and we didn't seem to mind listening to the prophets' counsel.

Only Picture

This is the only picture I got that really displayed how Ben was feeling the morning of his birthday.  He knew he made a mistake last night and was a little unsettled all morning.  He still ate some donuts and played with his presents, though.

Birthday Bust

Last night at 3am, Ben came in our room.  He said he was thirsty and so I took him to the kitchen for a drink where I happened upon all his presents ripped open and strewn all over the floor.  I walked him up to bed and swore I would never leave presents unattended again.  It really made the whole gift giving way less fun.  Not cool, buddy!

3rd Year

This girl was doing so well, she went and tried to help her friends get their kites up while I held hers and kept an eye on Ben who was playing in the basin nearby.

2nd Year

Jack flew kites last year, and was a total pro.  He even got his kite up on his own and laid down to fly it.  Even though it was overcast, it was so bright, laying down made it so easy to shade your eyes.  Good idea buddy!

Ben's Turn

When I showed up for Jack's kite flying it was super breezy and a little chilly, I of course had Ben with me.  Kyle stayed with us for an hour and helped Ben fly the shark kite while I hung out with Jack.

Kite Day

Norah's first kite day, was perfect.  Breezy and overcast.  Kyle spent an hour flying a butterfly kite with this beauty.

Crazy Kids

Love this picture, it shows their personalities so well.
