These Boys!!
Not having any brothers or uncles did not prepare me for having sons. Boys are different from girls and take some figuring out; I’m still learning. So far, I have discovered they have more energy and crave to be thrilled! Love these boys, so happy to be their mom!!
Views!!
On a walk this afternoon after the end of a winter storm advisory that dumped about 6 inches, the glory of all the white stuff was overwhelming and we had to take a picture!! The view was completely unreal, the clouds moving over the mountain was the cherry on top!!

Passed!!
Today after school, Ava drove around with her driving instructor and fellow drivers Ed students for 3 hours in order to complete her driving test! She passed and is super pumped for March 25, when she can get her picture taken and drive around without a parent!

Puzzles with Nana!
We bought a few puzzles before heading out of town and while we were away, this crew did almost the whole thing! Kyle pitched in a bunch at the end, and helped finish the puzzle right before it was time for Nana and Mary Ann to leave for the airport! Way to go guys; excited to watch one of these iconic movies from the 80’s to celebrate!

Ice Climbing
When we stopped to check out the rainbow ice-fall, Kyle noticed another frozen waterfall with a man about to scale it! We watched him get all the way to top and then repel down-it was so treacherous seeming, but he did it and then started up again!!
Rainbow Frozen Waterfall
On our drive we encountered this frozen masterpiece on the side of the road and on our way back we stopped for a fun photo with the help of another traveler. So neat to see this frozen waterfall so close to the road!
No Kids!!
With no kids to take our pictures for us, Kyle extended his arm and we posed for this picture in front of the lake after exploring all the fun little cabins along the path around the lake. We thought it would be fun to come back sometime and stay in a cabin with the kids!!
Welcome to Glacier
Two days of skiing had us completely wiped, so we were happy to sleep in until right before our church meeting started. We got dressed and packed afterwards before heading out to breakfast. We didn’t want to ski on Sunday so we decided to drive the hour to Glacier National Park.
We made it about halfway before the icy roads urged us to turn back. We found a turnoff and headed over to Lake McDonald and checked things out. The friendly snowman with his icicle nose greeted us after we parked.

Skied the Fish!
For my birthday, Kyle planned an amazing getaway that followed two days of work in Michigan. Once we got the house planned out, we purchased a ton of furnishings online and immediately flew to Montana.
We had two long and full flights before getting to Whitefish where it had just started snowing. The 4 inches of fresh powder lasted the whole time we were in Montana and more came in spurts to our amazement.
Our hotel room started out with two queen beds, but Kyle worked some magic and we were given a room with a king size bed. We crashed and slept until 9 the next day!
We found a pastry shop and ate some breakfast goodies, and a quiche as well as a raspberry croissant, then headed up the mountain. Our Nissan Rogue with 4 wheel drive handled the road well and we made our way to the ski shop and rented our gear.
The resort was super busy both days we skied thanks to a group of 800 people who were in town skiing with a church group. The busyness made the lift lines long and the slopes a little crowded, but we found some empty runs and managed to take a picture of us completely alone in the amazing wilderness!!

Snow at the Beach!
Snow at the beach is something new for us. So pretty to look at, especially the icebergs floating in the lake. The driveway situation at the Michigan house is not quite as magical, though. We couldn’t make it up the driveway last night in the rental car, so there’s no way the Tesla will make it down! Good thing we got a car rental, Kyle needs to head to the office while I work on furnishing this house in time to rent it for the summer!

Finished!!
We got this puzzle on Saturday and we finished it on Sunday!! In celebration, Kyle ordered the favorite cereal box on the puzzle, Quisp!! Amazon is delivering it next week!!

Jack’s Valentines
Any 8th grade girl would be honored to receive a handmade box of Jack’s homemade strawberry cheesecake truffles! This year 6 lucky girls were given these beautiful boxes filled with some of the tastiest truffles Jack has ever created. So proud of him for ditching the single-valentine rule and bringing joy to so many girls!
V-Day Dance
This year, the 6th grade dance looked completely different. There were no dance lessons or choreography, just like dancing and social distancing. Norah was very unhappy when this decision came down the pipes; she has really been disappointed by all the changes COVID has brought to her last year of elementary school. So glad these two best friends were able to get a minute without their masks and pose for a picture before jumping in line.

Valentine Boxes Never Looked so Good!
I cannot believe how these amazing projects turned out! Ben’s dungeons treasure box and Norah’s monster book of monsters look completely realistic and held the kids’ valentines like champs!! Love how creative our kids are, and the fact that they executed their ideas in such glorious ways was the cherry on top!!

Valentines!
Norah worked hard on these hand drawn flowers and then somehow convinced Ava to practice her watercolor skills and make these pop even more! What a beautiful valentine, the recipients are actually receiving a work of art AND candy!!
Ben nailed his hand drawn and colored Minecraft valentines! He used colored pencils for his medium, but they are still works of art and the kids in his class will be blown away if they are familiar with this popular video game. Love how creative the kids are!
Getting Better!
Ulli has been battling a raging ear infection that has affected all of us. The smell, oozing and especially the constant cleaning have been on the disgusting side for the past two weeks, but it seems like he is turning a corner and will be ok after all!

42!
Today was a special day, a year older and wiser. I’m fighting the signs of aging, but hoping I can gain the knowledge intended from the experiences I’ve had this and every year.
Kyle let me sleep in and took the kids to school after making lunches and convincing most of the kids to make me a birthday card. I enjoyed the extra rest and was able to ease into a quite breakfast before going skiing with Kyle.
It was a half day, so we picked the kids up early and hung out at the house opening gifts and watching a movie. I took the kids to practice in Ogden and chatted on the phone with Amber and Cass the whole time.
Dinner and dessert were amazing, and once Kyle put all the kids to bed, we watched a movie and the highlights of the winning Lakers game. I went to bed a little distressed about how the kids were behaving today. I love birthdays, but I really need to lower my expectations!!
Birthday Dinner & Dessert
Kyle really nailed dinner and dessert, which was no surprise to anyone, but much appreciated by me. The scallops and asparagus risotto were topped only by the chocolate tres leches cake smothered in caramel mascarpone frosting. So lucky to have stag an amazing under the same roof!

The End
Jack’s Snowcrest season came to a screeching halt after a sledding injury sustained on Sunday. He hit a rock with his knee and really hurt himself. The swelling continued for a few days and at the insistence of the basketball coach we took Jack to urgent care and scheduled an MRI. He missed the last game of the season and with his absence the rest of the team couldn’t hold it together for a win and they got knocked out of playoff contention.
Kyle was able to watch a few of Jack’s games on the big screen of the conference room at the business in Michigan. We all loved watching Jack play and were sad to see him struggle with his junior high team. In spite of such a successful last season, this year the team only won three games and lost 5, including one to a team that never wins.
