Biggest Frosty

The craziest part about the snow storm, was that it was at the end of March and the biggest one of the season. There was so much snow, frosty ended up taller than ever. He liked that, though, just look at that wood chip smile!

Freaky Weather

The day I left for my trip to Illinois, it got so cold in Dallas that Six Flags closed down during Kyle, Eric, Holly and the kids' visit there. The next it snowed!

Eric and Holly ended up delaying their departure after seeing someone careen off the road into the snowy median.

In addition to the crazy snow, the wind made it seem even colder, causing snow drifts to pile up on our windows even.

I missed this round of white stuff but had plenty of cold weather while in Chicago.

Brotherly Wrestle

Jack may look like he's loving on his baby sister, but when I was taking these pictures, she was screaming and he was laughing. He really does love her and talks about how "Norah loves me" all the time, but today was not one of those days.

I think the pictures are deceiving though and show a sweet little brother/sister hug.

Sisters

I love these photos of Ava and Norah, staring at them makes me see how similar and differently they look. It is so fun to study their cute little features.

From the Back

This is how the dresses look from the back, they are adorable, thanks Grammy!

Easter Dresses

Grammy sent these beautiful Easter dresses a couple of weeks ago and we have waited as long as Ava would let us to wear them. She wore the rest of the day after receiving the box, but didn't get to go anywhere in it.

Today was the Sunday closest to Easter we would be attending church, General Conference is Easter weekend, so Kyle put the girls in these little numbers while I caught up on some much needed shut-eye after my trip to Chicago spent bunking with Norah.

Popcorn Fiend

Norah wasn't excited to be couped in someone's lap for nearly two hours and despite our best efforts to distract her she wasn't impressed with anything having to do with the circus...until we gave her some popcorn.

She must have eaten an entire carton herself, she wouldn't stop and even when her lips looked totally dried out, a swig of water later and she was back at it.

Daddy's Girls

Kyle loves his girls so much and they couldn't be happier with their choice of fathers, but I'm not sure these pictures show just how much they adore this man. Ava can't get enough of Kyle's serenades before bed and Norah screams when she hears him come from work. They truly are Daddy's girls.

Circus Tradition

We had to herd everyone out of the party promptly to get to our evening of family circusing on time. The Carnes and Barnum Circus was in town this same time last year and ended up being one of our last outings as a family of four, so when we saw it was in town again, we had to make it work despite the busy day of Disney on Ice and surprise birthday partying.

Last year it was totally hot and sticky and we had no cash for drinks, this year we planned ahead and bought popcorn, drinks and cotton candy and the weather was more than cooperative with beautiful skies and blustery breezes.

100% Boy

Jack wasn't the only boy in attendance at the party, but he was the only with a swing and some force. It started going viking style on the pinata towards the end and was so thrilled to be hitting something on purpose in front of everybody! He is all boy.

Pinata Time

After balloon twisting, we headed downstairs for some pinata busting and the kids did even better than last year.

In the end I think it was Kyle that cracked the ice cream cone pinata that Ava had requested during a trip to Hobby Lobby, but the kids all walked away with a bag full of candy and a smile on their face.

Balloon Man

Having a dad that twists balloons never gets old. The kids are perfectly happy to have Kyle twist balloons any of the week and apparently their friends are cool with it too, because when the party started slowing down Kyle saved the day with flowers, dogs, pigs and motorcycles for everybody.
